Search Media Marketing(SMM)
I propose to share with you my definition of social media marketing . There are several definitions published on various blogs and on Wikipedia Social media marketing programs center on efforts Usually to create content that attracts Attention, Generate online conversations, and encouraged readers to share it with their social networks. This definition is interesting but I think focusing too much on the 'trade creation. Marketing draws in fact rooted in a very detailed analysis of the market and in adapting the offer according to the ski field. We are therefore far from an essentially country on creating traffic in point of sale.
Here is the definition I propose: "The social marketing tools and practical means to identify and analyze conversations and to participate and initiate social interaction within communities ."
In this definition there are two essential points:
- The identification and analysis of conversations, which can thus not only to develop tools of listening and surveillance but also to the interpretation of the latter (so instant in its evolution).
- The participation and initiation of social interaction, it is not so much about responding to criticism that also be the source of structured discussions (or should I say "framed").
You could tell me that marketing strategy is agnostic communication channels and there is no "TV marketing" or "radio marketing" but I would say that social media rules are disrupted and that we can not apply the same revenue (see The 4 Ps of social marketing). Social media as a great opportunity for marketers to do field work with customers / prospects (see Media social marketing and field) and find they had lost the closeness with the mass media.
Note that the social media marketing is not an exact science, and that remains of craft that must be adjusted on a case by case basis depending on the context (like measuring tools that are still far from standardized: three different approaches to social media analytics).
I conclude by saying that there is no real training and that overlapping roles yet: The business of social media marketing. So there is a side "clearing" in the marketing practices related to social media but do not mean simply make one-off operations but rather to define a strategy of presence in the long term.
